MLM How-To: Don’t Be A Pirate!

Pirates have a rough way of making a living. Try commanding a sailboat full of singing sailors who are full of liquor. They’re so inebriated they won’t hear a word you say. Better to have a boat full of alligators than a shipload of pirates.

Pirating is like network marketing in a lot of ways. You have a ship (business) full of people who want to pillage the marketplace, gathering captives with their “sales pitch” and rolling over the objections. That has a 97% fail rate in the industry. It’s much better to build your business with no sales, no closing, and no pressure. Instead, have a conversation! That way you eliminate your agenda, and every call is a success. You want to simply see if you have a fit. If you do, fine. If you don’t, next!

Networking should always be so easy. It’s something you naturally do anyway; you’re just getting paid for it in MLM. In order to get naturally paid for a natural thing, you have to do it naturally. That’s the best-kept secret of network marketing success.
