Either A Follower Or A Leader Be

For most people who are in network marketing---

They’re like a country person who suddenly finds themselves in the city, or vice-versa.

I’ve NEVER lived in the country in my life. Ever.

Being from Texas, I’ve BEEN to the country many times. Even spent the night there. But I’ve NEVER lived there on a day-to-day basis, among the varmints and critters and such, drinking well water and walking barefoot in the summertime. I’m OUT OF MY ELEMENT THERE. And those country folks would be out of their element, too, if they came to the city where traffic jams, public transportation, and crime is a way of life.

Most people are also out of their element in network marketing (MLM). Oh it seemed like a good idea when they got in, when they let their friend or foe talk them into this unfamiliar territory that looked so safe--- and it IS--- unless you’re not prepared.

Nearly everyone in MLM is TRUSTING and DEPENDING on SOMEONE ELSE to do things for them that they are really responsible for themselves.

EXAMPLE

Your “sponsor” tells you, “We’re a multi-billion dollar company that’s debt free.”

In other words, “We’re stable and secure… so YOU don’t have to be.

“You don’t need ANY MONEY or EXPERIENCE to do this business because WE’RE ALL YOU NEED. Just buy our products, use our ‘system’, and do what we tell you to do. Even if you don’t understand it, or it makes no sense to you, JUST TRUST US (in other words, ‘you’re at our mercy’).”

You entered network marketing to CONTROL YOUR OWN DESTINY, not be controlled by someone else. You want to be part of the group, not part of the “CULT”, right?

MLM is a business where most people fail, but the ones who succeed are VERY successful. The reason is that there are LEADERS, and there are FOLLOWERS. Who do you think are the most successful? Do you want to be a follower, or a leader?

You joined because you liked the person who sponsored you, and this seemed like a great deal, but do the people in your upline KNOW what they’re talking about? If YOU’RE confused, and you join some more confused people, THAT’S HOW YOU GET HURT.

Two sentences will save you a LOT of failure and frustration in network marketing. When somebody tells you something, just say,

1. "How do you know?" or 2. "Prove it!"

They’re basically two ways of saying the same thing: “Where are you getting that information--- and why is it important to me?”

People get REALLY flustered when you ask that question--- unless they're prepared to answer it.
